There are coastal walks, various beaches nearby, villages along the River Dart from Dartmouth to Totnes. There is a market in the town which features stalls and local produce.

Boat trips are accessible from the quay down the river to villages such as Dittisham where you can go ashore for drinks and food at the famous Ferry Boat Inn or take a look around Agatha Christie’s House, Greenway. There is an extensive calendar of special events throughout the year.
